Working with digital twins 3D environments is currently a hot topic within the government. The added value of using 3D technology is recognized and strongly encouraged by the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations.

Applications include visualizing (construction) plans and their impact on the local environment, as well as participatory research. Subsurface analysis for purposes such as settlement calculations or flood scenarios. Technically speaking, the possibilities are endless, and seeing these kinds of applications in the digital twin always digital twin that “cool” and “awesome” factor.

Successful and sustainable collaboration using 3D applications within Digital twin

Although many organizations would like to start working with 3D, widespread acceptance and adoption have yet to materialize. Contributing factors often include users’ lack of awareness of the technology’s capabilities and creators’ lack of understanding of exactly what users need. This aspect is often seen as one of the major hurdles that must be overcome in order to successfully and sustainably transition to working with 3D, without a project stalling halfway through or being abandoned after a single project.

There are therefore two knowledge gaps to fill. To address these two gaps, IMAGEM offers IMAGEM workshop designed to help organizations take a structured approach to successfully and sustainably adopting 3D technology.

The advantage of this workshop is that the users themselves come up with the applications that demonstrate the added value of 3D. You then work together to prioritize which applications can be delivered first. This method creates business value. And with that, you immediately have support and justification for allocating the necessary budgets. This way, it becomes a story/vision for the entire organization.
