IMAGEM , in collaboration with Leica Geosystems, IMAGEM a solution that uses the BLK2GO handheld scanner to integrate true-to-life and accurate images into a digital twin. The scanner can capture the entire interior and exterior of a building, for example, in just a few minutes. We demonstrate this in the video below using scans of our office in Apeldoorn.

Scans in a digital twin

“Colleagues from Leica Geosystems stopped by our office here in Apeldoorn with their BLK2GP scanner,” says Patrick de Groot of IMAGEM. “It’s a handheld scanner that allows them to scan an entire building in very high resolution in just a few minutes. We use this type of data in our digital twins, which enables us to integrate that data one-to-one into the floor plan of the outdoor space.”

The Leica BLK2GO portable imaging laser scanner captures spaces in 3D as you move.

“Our customers can also digital twin this type of data into their digital twin , which helps them create as realistic and accurate a representation as possible of the buildings they digital twin include in their digital twin without it taking a lot of effort. For example, they can use that data to determine volumes and floor areas, as well as to map out evacuation routes within their building.”

The Leica BLK2GO isn’t just any portable imaging laser scanner. Scan as you walk, without interruption. As you move through a space, the BLK2GO uses advanced SLAM technology to accurately track your movements and generate images and point clouds in real time with dimensional precision.

A wide range of applications

This offers countless applications for the business and government sectors. Companies can scan their commercial buildings to digital twins accurate digital twins , which enable them digital twins manage maintenance, space optimization, and renovation plans more effectively.

Architects and contractors can scan construction sites to obtain accurate measurements, track progress, and identify any deviations from the original design. Retailers can use the scanner to optimize store layouts, with the digital twin to analyze customer traffic patterns and the effectiveness of shelf arrangements.

Event organizers can scan event venues to optimize the layout, improve visitor flow, and minimize safety risks. Real estate agents can create detailed 3D views of properties for potential buyers or renters, enabling virtual tours that are far more realistic than traditional photos.

With this BLK2Go handheld scanner, you can measure volumes and surface areas and perform accurate calculations of the interior and exterior of buildings and sites. This handheld scanner is offered by Leica Geosystems, which, together with IMAGEM , is IMAGEM of the Hexagon .

Leica is responsible for the hardware component of this solution, while IMAGEM digital twin the software component of the solution within a digital twin .

Improving efficiency

With the BLK2GO handheld scanner, you can easily gain insight into the key aspects of the buildings and environments you manage. The integration of the Leica BLK2GO with IMAGEM digital twin not only IMAGEM it possible to digitize the physical world, but also to make data-driven business decisions, improve efficiency, and discover new opportunities.
